The Turkish born, dramatic - coloratura soprano Esin Özsan studied vocal-studies at the Royal  Conservatory in the Hague, the Netherlands, where she gained her diploma in performing and teaching.
Later she studied with Cristina Deutekom and took part in master-classes wit Christa Ludwig, Arleen Auger and Erna Spoorenberg. Her repetoire varies from Bach to Schonberg, opera, oratorio and liederen. She also sang in "Macbeth" for the Dordrechts Belcanto Festival, conducted by C. Carella.
Esin has sang for many years with the Netherlands opera chorus in Amsterdam.

Esin is also an outstanding singing teacher/ pedagogue, "a good technique is a must". A good technique means knowing exactly how to combine the breath with the midriff. A beautiful voice is not the most important thing, but a good technique is essential, otherwise the voice becomes damaged.

The voice can stay healthy for many years with proper vocal training.  A proper understanding of Bel Canto technique is essential, and in this way the voice stays beautiful.  A good singer combines their musicality  with  intelligence.

Esin gave a masterclass herself in the Selcuk University of music in Konya, Turkey. Also were the performances of the Spanish Zaruela's in Malta during the Victoria Festival. She gave many concerts in Germany, Belgium and  the Netherlands.

Other  succesful projects include

  • working with the Turkish composer Meliha Doğuduyal and clarinettist Emirhan Tuga under the name “Arti Trio” ,

  • liederen concerts with the pianist Chi Han, from Taiwan

  • together with the Italian pianist Lucia Marrucci concerts mainly using the Bel Canto repetoire.

  • recently als soloist for the Utrechts Opera, which concentrates on performing excerpts out of the opera repetoire.

After directing/conducting “DieZauberflote” she also became very interested in projects with young musicians. In 2010 Esin also published her book “ Singing techniek” in her own native language , Turkish.
